The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

The smash-hit National Theatre production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time returns to London for a strictly limited season, following an acclaimed UK and International tour.

Winner of 7 Olivier Awards and 5 Tony Awards® including ‘Best Play’, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time brings Mark Haddon’s best-selling novel to thrilling life on stage, adapted by two-time Olivier Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens and directed by Olivier and Tony Award®-winning director Marianne Elliott.

Christopher, fifteen years old, stands beside Mrs Shears’ dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

  • Great play!

Amazing performances and a really clever way of representing that story.

  • Wonderful performance

    28 April 2019

I took my grandson who is almost 15years old to see this-he has many friends and relatives who are neuro-diverse, so though he would find this very interesting and useful. Both he and I loved it all, the lead performance was outstanding and must have been very tiring as he just exuded energy. The set was so clever and it worked well. The other actors played their roles with great enthusiasm and skill. All considering we would be happy to see again or to recommend to others.

  • Wonderful afternoon

    28 April 2019

A fabulous production highlighting autism in a very engaging way, there were highs and lows and all emotions and we adored the puppy at the end! Excellent

  • Don't allow people to eat during the performance

    28 April 2019

I cannot believe you let people take in all this disgusting food and allow them to eat it noisily during the play. It was awful, I could not enjoy the play at all as people around me were slurping slushies, crunching popcorn and making all sorts of noises with paper bags and plastic pots
