Enjoyable with small annoyances

Very slow and somewhat boring first half, was made worse by Charles Blyth's (Art Garfunkel character) extremely annoying cheesy narrative of the life story of Simon & Garfunkel. Second half was very enjoyable, but still cringe worthy everytime Charles spoke a line. Charles redeems himself with his singing, his rendtion of Bride Over Troubled Waters was beautifully delivered.

Odd band additions

This is the second time we’ve seen the show, taking our parents the second time because we enjoyed it so much. But there were some additions to the accompanying band that weren’t used in the smaller venue and it meant we could hardly hear the singing, which is what we came to hear. Adding a trombone, trumpet and saxophone to Simon and Garfunkel changed it too much for my liking.

Both Actors sang and played their parts brilliantly. It was like a mini concert. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would definitely recommend the production.

The band was great and the two stars playing Simon and Garfunkel were terrific. But I went to hear their greatest hits and only half of them were played. The others were their songs that never really made it to the top and so we don’t know them. I found that disappointing.
I realize it may be due to the cost of royalties but if you are going to put on a show like this then you need to go for it or don’t do it. Like Jersey Boys, Thriller, Dream Girls, Beautiful, we go to these shows to hear all the music we loved not to hear the ones we don’t even know.

What a great evening.
The Simon & Garfunkel Story was a toe-tapping extravaganza down memory lane and I would thoroughly recommend it.
It managed to transform us from a Monday evening in the West End of London to Scarborough Fair and other such places.
It was a great nostalgic trip, featuring many of their hits and the duo looked just like the original pair.

I enjoyed the event very much. The story takes you from their early days as friends at High School to what they did after splitting up.
The songs begin early on when they were at school and move up to their most famous album 'Bridge over Troubled Water'. As a result, I learned about songs I didn't know they sang. Also, we hear a lot of songs that we do know.
I didn't think the videos playing at the back were always very relevant.
I thought the two singers had great voices and they sounded very like Simon and Garfunkel. Their moves were similar and they looked like them as well. The backing groups (guitars, keyboards and brass) were great also and they all blended well together. But the two main singers......just Fantastic.

The Music Tells the Story

There was less "story" than I had expected, with at times several songs going by between comments and background provided by the performers and film clips. But this was a crack cover band and overall it was really effective. And hearing all that music (and not just the hits - some deep tracks) together reminded me that it is possible to let this timeless music do the talking.

We're so glad we made the effort to brave the cold weather to see the Simon and Garfunkel story. Our daughter saw it in New Zealand and highly recommended it. We were not disappointed. The two singers were awesome and their harmonies so beautiful. Their backing band was excellent too with just the correct volume, not overpowering but still giving it some punch. Excellent show with some great singers and musicians.

I bought these tickets for my daughter and her boyfriend as a Christmas present. Unfortunately, they left the show before half time as they were very disappointed with it. They complained and were told that they would get a refund as they were not even sitting together as there was a post in the way, even though these were stalls tickets and there was no mention of this

An amazing live performance of exceptionally high quality reproductions of Simon and Garfunkels songs expertly delivered in chronological order accompanied by some additional biographical information and a continuous background video display of both artists and /or scenes from the appropriate songs era.
Backing group were also amazingly talented.spent most of the evening just watching the bass guitarist in total awe of his abilities.
If you like Simon and /or Garfunkel or even just 60's and 70's folk type music then this is definitely the show for you.Superb from start to well deserved and very well received encore.
