David Suchet saved me from walking out

I love David Suchet, I went to see the show because of him, and without him it would be a zero star review. Bad acting, the script was delivered in a dry, (very) dragged out manner and I (and others with me) could not connect with the characters. DS was very special and I am happy I saw him live, but I am disappointed at the show overall.

What an amazing evening, and absolutely delighted with the performance of the understudy for Brendan Coyle, (Although I was very disappointed not to see Brendan in the part.)He was brilliant, as were the other three people in the cast, and of course, in particular, David Suchet.

Brilliant performance by the 4 cast members. Pity we had to be lectured by the wonderful Suchet to give to a particular Charity - don’t need to be told by an actor what we should be doing with our money. I’ll make up my own mind about my donations, thank you Mr Suchet. You were fab on that stage, though!

It is perhaps one of Millers lesser known plays but it deals with issues which are relevant to present day as it did to the time when he first wrote the play.
A play like this only works well when all the main actors really engage with each other.As the strands of the relationships were unwound the questions were asked and we were left to ponder on the real value of people and their lives,not the worthless possessions they hoarded.
There was a dark humour which I am sure the audience appreciated and hopefully made them reflect upon what they should really value and treasure.
Well staged , intelligently acted and
a performance that will stay with the audience after the curtain came down.

David Suchet's performance made the show but the rest of the cast was strong and the understudy who performed the day I attended the play was excellent.
The first act seemed a little slow until the antique dealer (Suchet) arrived.

An exceptionally powerful production, full of heart and soul. David Suchet is, without a doubt, one of the greatest performers of our time, and this play showcases it all. He left me in tears even before the intermission. Absolutely amazing. I left feeling like this play will change my life one way or another; I have so much to take away with me.

Wow! Truly wonderful performances all round. Loved the scenery - just perfect! The cast of 4 were equally fabulous and I couldn’t choose a favourite. It’s a long play but holds your attention throughout with a perfectly timed interval! Booked seats with slightly restricted view so at times couldn’t see the actors but didn’t detract too much.

Excellent casting and you can't beat Miller for studies into family interactions. The only slight flaw with this production is that the cast didn't always project their voices, particularly in the second half and we in the upper seats were straining at times to hear what was being said.

Outstanding performances from the four-hand cast. Suchet is masterful in his characterisation and comedic timing; Boyle impeccable in his body language and delivery as the undertrodden cop; Lukis delivers strongly the confident highflying astranged brother, and Stewart plays up nicely the frustrated aspirational materially-driven wife. If anything the Bronx accents are not absolutely always spot-on, but this can be forgiven. Great set and direction. Not to be missed!

Excellent performances by all 4 actors. Thought provoking and funny. A beautiful theatre. We sat in balcony area. Still had a good view although very steep. The only problem was it was far too hot and this made me very uncomfortable and reduced my enjoyment. Needed to improve air conditioning please.
