Thought provoking, a deep insight of a condition yet to be fully recognised and understood.
Beautifully and skillfully executed.
Brilliant acting, direction and an amazing script.
This is a must see for all families with or without an autistic child.
It eduction, its awareness, its understanding and its theatre at its best.
Deeply moved.

Not quite sure as from the circle we could not hear the actors. Wonderful story which I didn't feel was given leverage to in a one scene show. (It might have changed in the second half) we left.

Outstanding experience
11 May 2017
This has been the 4th time I and family members attended, and each time has been a revelation. From the lead actor (s) and supporting cast through to the spectacularly ingenious use of technology, this is a proof that an amazing but rather introspectiv book can be cleverly adapted to become a life experience on stage. Outstanding.

3 May 2017
I read this book 8-9 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. When I had the chance suddenly to see the play I couldn't let it get away, and I am so glad I went! The scenography and choreography was so beautifully made and perfectly timed, and the entire play was very true to the book and the main character, Christopher. It's funny, heartbreaking, moving and meaningful just like the book, with all the added effects the theatre brings.

The whole stage comes alive to demonstrate both the alienating, restricted and overwhelming experiences of the main character. Beautifully played and takes us with him on his journey. Ultimately moving and uplifting.

Having read the book, I was interested to see the play but it surpassed all expectations. The staging was superb, very imaginative and extremely clever - I thought it really conveyed the story in a very creative and absorbing way.
The cast were first rate but I must give a special mention to the actor who played Christopher in such an empathetic and convincing manner. He was superb. My 18 year old son was engrossed...

23 April 2017
This play was probably the most inspirational that I have seen. The cast were all brilliant but a special mention must go to Thomas Dennis who played the lead role of Christopher Boon, he gave an absolutely fantastic performance of what was an intense and very energetic character. The set design was also amazing. This is a not to be missed show, be sure to catch it before it closes in June.

Great play, and it makes you think
21 April 2017
I was curious about the play, and not just because the word was in the title. I took my 12yr old son and his friend to see the play, and all of us were totally absorbed from start to finish. I know one autistic child, and the acting, writing, and the set captured the way they think, panic, go into a meltdown, and conveyed that in an intelligent and non patronising way to myself, and the 2 boys with me. Very well done to all the team, for dealing with a difficult topic, in a way that different age groups can connect to, and more importantly, pause and try to understand. As a parent, it made me emotional. Well worth it.

I was resident about seeing a really great book adapted poorly for the stage, but this was not the case. It was an exciting adaptation of the book and a throughly enjoyable experience. This is a benchmark of excellence!

This was very different from the usual shows I would see. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The lead character Christopher was particularly good, very watchable. It was easy to empathise with all the characters. The set and lighting was outstanding, really innovative and well planned. We had a great view from the dress circle and it was a great evening's entertainment.

A fine performance well executed
13 April 2017
The Gielgud Theatre is a wonderful theatre venue, both visually superb and intimate enough to ensure that most seats allow observation of facial expressions rather than relying on over-enthusiastic body language to empaphise the dialogue.
The play itself is an exquisite rendering of an interesting book, helped in no small part by the seemingly simple but incredibly clever set, which was a joy to watch as it unfolded its secrets.
The acting was good by all, but I have to add that Joseph Ayre was outstanding as Christopher, all the more credit to him when I read that it is his first acting job out of drama school. Despite having now performed the role countless times in the last several months he still manages to give his all in an energetic and mesmerising performance.
