Bad Jews

After sell-out seasons at the St James Theatre and Arts Theatre, the comedy hit of 2015 visits the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a six week run prior to a national tour. In BAD JEWS a beloved grandfather has died and a treasured family heirloom is up for grabs. But who is most deserving of it? Bossy, overbearing, fanatically religious Daphna? Her wealthy cousin Liam who’s just returned from skiing with his non-Jewish girlfriend Melody? Or Jonah, his brother, who would prefer not to get involved in the fight.

  • Fast Paced Family Pathos

    18 March 2016

Wonderfully performed by all the players who were brilliantly casted, tight direction and simple yet brilliant set, script full of comedic moment interspersed with touches of humility, love and humanity all undermined by cutting and acerbic observations by the two leads. Do not go if expletives offend but these are not thrown about like a typical comedian but punctuate the script. Great

  • Funny and thought provoking

Thoroughly production of Bad Jews. It is a very funny and thought provoking play, acted with great verve by a very talented cast. All good comedy should be rooted in truth and this play ceratinly is. Interesting themes explored and comic timing is perfect. Many Congratulations to the 4 actors.

  • Absolutely stunning

Despite some less than positive reviews we still booked. When the show started, we thought it was a bit slow and wondered if we had made a mistake in coming. How wrong is it possible to be? The pace very quickly picked up and at times was running at breakneck speed. There were moments of eye-watering hilarity (one of my contact lenses came out with the tears) but there were also several amazing thought-provoking moments and as for the ending - well, I don't want to ruin it for anyone who can catch this show before the run ends but it left us talking about it for hours afterwards There was no intermission and only 4 performers but their energy and passion was exemplary and we were left breathless at the end. One of the most absorbing and enjoyable shows we have seen in many, many years of theatre going. Superb
