2nd half slow
30 December 2017
A well put-together and very informative show giving an entertaining summary of how The Sun took over the publishing world. Overall it is entertaining although the 2nd half is laboured and far too much time taken over the launch of the page 3 girls - surely this wasn’t the be-all and end-all it was agonisingly made out to be in the play.
Strong acting throughout although Rupert Murdoch strayed dangerously close to Leonard Rossiter in Rising Damp a lot of the time...

I enjoyed Ink immensely. The sets, direction and acting were excellent and the play was well written and kept me engaged throughout. The play really caught the atmosphere of a newspaper office in the '60s with the intense rivalry between the tabloids and the machinations of the characters involved, and it was fascinating to see the molten metal pouring down to make the beds of type. I heartily recommend it.

This play was brilliant
Actors who are well known & those who are not were vital to what was a gripping & humourous play
One particular actress playing many roles Anna Murdoch/Diana/Christie/Apprentice deserves recognition for her outstanding ability for versatility within the play
Thanks for a great performance

Fast, furious and funny this gripped from the start! Some superb casting and convincing acting made this play so satisfying.
James Graham has managed again to make a play for our times both relevant and engaging. Murdoch’s grip on the media has only tightened, so it is fascinating to watch the birth of his Sun.
Inevitably, the later stages of the play had a more serious tone

Outstanding set, superbly directed, excellent cast. The contrast between the first (punchy, fast-moving, action packed) and second (introspective, darker and more judgmental) halves worked very well and confirmed the outstanding quality of Graham’s writing. One of the best West End plays I have seen in years.

Thought Provoking
19 November 2017
Really thought provoking and unbelievable to watch, weather you think of it as a good or bad thing that happened so many twists and turns packed into that first year of ownership - one would think it was unbelieveable. Wish they would make a sequel showing the 80s, 90s and the further controversy caused over the years. Can't make up my mind whether Murdoch was a saint or sinner - just can't stop thinking about the whole thing !!

enjoyable
17 November 2017
I enjoyed this production but for me it did not live up to the 5 star reviews it has received. The two central performances were excellent with good backing from the rest of the cast. I think that the play was too long and could have been cut by at least 20mins without losing any impact. It may have felt so long due to the very uncomfortable seats at the D.O.Y.

Excellent! We were really stimulated by it - especially the first half. The second was just too repetitive.
The script was crisp, punchy and horrible.
The 2 key actors had their parts completely under their belts and everyone else was both beautifully cast and excellent in their varied roles.
The stage deserves a special mention- an exciting, clever layout.
I would have enjoyed seeing the first act again.
By the way - Doesn’t Rupert have an Australian accent?

superb production
6 October 2017
Beautifully acted and directed. Thoroughly involving. Richard Coyle stole the show with a superb performance as Larry Lamb. Bertie Carvel was more limited as Murdoch. It was not always easy to hear his words and his attempt to mimic the mannerisms of Murdoch came over as self-consciously affected at times. Great ensemble playing and very creative use of music and movement. The play also carries a very important message relating to the Brexit and Trump phenomena which plague our societies - the danger of pandering to the lowest taste and mentality in the population.
