The play was brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The challenge of making important decisions based on uncertainty and conflicting opinions is as relevant today as it was for the invasion.

Review of Pressure at the Ambassadors
12 August 2018
Very engaging, playing on the pressure of the atmosphere, the blood pressure of Stagg's wife close to giving birth, and the pressure under which Stagg has to make an accurate weather forecast and Eisenhower has to make a decision. Brilliantly acted especially by David Haig. Presented with a balance of sensitivity to the potential and then realised human suffering the order to go would bring about, with the wit and humour of the banter that goes on in the meteorological office.

10 August 2018
A fantastic play, a fantastic cast, and the story of a possibly little known but crucial part played by the Allies (and one man in particular) in the Second World War. Grippingly told, it held my attention throughout! Not a moment of wasted or pointless dialogue. So good I bought the programme and a copy of the play off the attendant! Thank you, David Haig, for bringing this to our attention so wonderfully. As he says in the programme, he wants as many people as possible to know about this story, and he is correct to want this! Brilliant!

A British friend suggested I see David Haig in Pressure during my ten day visit from Boston. I read a lot of fiction and non-fiction about WWII and thoroughly enjoyed this play. I see a lot af theater while here in the summer. Usually musicals as they cost a fortune in the US. It was great seeing David Haig whom we know from Killing Eve and other British mysteries on TV. Kudos to the other actors as well, especially Malcolm Sinclair and Laura Rogers. Despite knowing the ending, Pressure delivered as a tense drama with wonderful bits of humor.

8 August 2018
We bought tickets for this after reading a few of the reviews and having seen David Haig in other performances. The subject being the weather forecasting for the D-Day invasion was unusual but it was brought to life in an engaging manner.
We really did enjoy it and have been talking about it ever since.

Atmospheric and brilliant. GO to see this play.
29 July 2018
We had really wanted to see David Haig but he was injured. The stand in did a very good job but since David wrote the play and we particularly like his style we were sad not to see him. However the whole cast was really good and the story was tense. Particularly edge of the seat stuff if you can't remember the actual date of the d day landings. This play reinforces the shocking notion that history can sometimes turn on the actions of a handful of people. We also loved the way that several relationships had been carefully woven into the action which added to the interest. Dont worry if you don't understand anything about the weather. It's all brilliantly set out in big charts and whilst some detail is given it is by no means overdone. Go to see this play. You won't regret it.

I saw the matinée performance of Pressure yesterday. I found it utterly riveting, tense and have already recommended it to several friends.......
All the cast were excellent in their rôles, but the Scottish meteorologist and “Ike” were superb. I am old enough to have seen Eisenhower........funnily enough, outside Culzean Castle in Ayrshire, and the resemblance was extraordinary.
Also, his female assistant and driver displayed great emotional intensity and was so believable.
Thank you!

Success is in the planning and in the detail and that is what we learned from Pressure. You think you know the story of D-Day but clearly there is more to know. The story of James Stagg is told with humour and pathos and is clearly a passion project for David Haig. Well done!

Intriguing WW2 Drama
22 June 2018
David Haig provides a fascinating insight into the importance of predicting the weather before launching the DDay landings. What could be dry and over detailed narrative is brought to life by a humorous and sympathetic script. The acting is excellent with Haig heading a polished cast as the dour Scottish boffin. Thoroughly entertaining stuff!
