Came on a Thursday night and was blown away by it all. The set was very authentic and it genuinely felt like you were at a 1920s party. The story was told so well and I love the interactive element of it. The acting, singing and dancing was fabulous! An experience you must not miss!

What a fabulous event, range of age groups and the actors were fab, helping to remove any self consciousness and we really did dance the Charleston by the end of it! Wonderful fun, excellent organisation moving the groups around. Believable acting, cannot recommend highly enough

Our first visit to the Gatsby 'party' was 3 weeks ago and we loved it so much we came back! This is a different experience from your usual theatre with opportunities to be involved in the story. The cast are extremely respectful of the audience and has an amazing ability to think on their feet!
The immersive experience is set up in a clever that you can explore different elements of the characters story lines while not losing the thread when the audience is reunited.
My husband and I loved it and would highly recommend. The bar is a bonus too!

This is the second time I have seen this ‘show’. Everyone is totally in character from the person seeing you in, the bar tender and every character. They involve the whole audience, making them feel privy to their darkest deeds and thoughts. Spellbinding.

Absolute waste of money. The atmosphere was okay. However, the acting was terrible, the venue was disgusting and the play couldn’t have been less like the book/film. Wouldn’t recommend this at all, we left at the interval.

We turned up half an hour early as advised and had made an effort to dress appropriately for the 1920's. We were amazed to find ourselves at the back of a long and noisy queue of mainly young people flamboyantly dressed as "flappers" in feathers boas and pearls (the women) or sharp suits bow ties slicked back hair and "spats" shoes (the men). After a warm welcome with clear laying down of the ground rules of "immersive theatre" including the need for complete exclusion of mobile phones in the 1920's we were encouraged to go to the bar where paradoxically it seemed that the 1920's eschewed cash and only accepted cards. The dingy prohibition era drinking dive set was soon further coloured by members of the cast mingling and introducing themselves to the audience. A rousing song from "Myrtle" in the bar naturally started the show proper before we were moved into the main set which was Gatsby's mansion. The audience were all guests at the party and the interaction between the strong clearly spoken cast and the audience was unique. After an initial dancing class in which everyone was encouraged to embrace the complexities of Charleston (or "Chair-stone for the less mobile) different "sub-groups" of the audience were taken into different rooms as different parts of the plot were developed without losing track of the overall story. The pathos of Gatsby's unrequited love for Daisy and George Wilson's betrayed love of Myrtle brought a moving silence to the end of an extraordinary production very cleverly engineered without conventional seats and stage. We would like to go back again and join a different "sub-group" for a different perspective...

If only I'd known

I booked this on a whim to take my wife to a show in London and clearly didn't read the description. We arrived in Jeans and Trainers (perfect attire for having walked around the city all day) and felt under dressed and actually disappointed that we hadn't 'dolled up to the 9s'. The explanation of this being an immersive experience had my wife's social anxiety going through the roof but it needn't have. It was one the best experiences we've ever had and the immersion was anything but an invasion of personal space (as promised in the "house rules"). The show was amazing and the acting brilliant and honestly we left feeling the only thing that could have made it better was us being dressed to be more participative. We're even talking about going again!

It was really nice and fun definitely worth checking it out and dressing up was super fun. If you love the roaring 20s this is for you make sure to dress the part. However the drinks were too expensive and not much variety also its a lot of standing not much seats available but still good!

Loved it
From the moment we stepped into the cafe it was a fantastic experience with everyone we came across in character, from the doorman to bar staff and of course the cast mingling with everyone.
Then when the show began, the interaction with the audience was a new experience for me and just felt part of the show, in the show.

What an experience!! From the moment you enter the show you are indulged in the 1920's era and the place comes alive.
The actors are amazing and take on the roles of each character remarkably well.
We followed Gatsby for the first part, then Mirtle and then Daisy. It was such a great day.
We dressed up and felt like we were part of the crowd, we'd highly recommend joining in with the outfits!
All in all we had one of our best days out in London. Highly recommended and 5 star quality!!

An amazing night of immersion theatre. Invest some time in either reading the book or seeing Baz Lurhmanns film before going and you'll be handsomely rewarded by this production. Also, since you are paying for an immersive experience, make the effort to dress up.
The scenes take place in a variety of settings that have carefully crafted to create the atmosphere of the era. You'll be taken on one of many possible theatrical experiences. The entire premise relies on the duality of your own knowledge of the film/book, you'll need to be aware that as you are watching your scene others will be taking place that you will not see, but the chronology moves on. Embrace it, accept it, and enjoy the ride. At various points guests are given tasks, small groups are extracted and returned to other scenes. The dynamic is fluid which adds to the experience. Even during the interval, minor interactions take place.
Don't worry, it all comes together at the end and you leave thoroughly entertained.
Ignore the negative reviews, the avant guarde are often misjudged. The rules of theatre are being broken and the audiences are all the better for it.

A little bit disappointing!

Unfortunately can't recommend this play. Even though it's a good idea and the actors are not bad. The venue is completely miserable Wearhouse let's face it. Therefore it was freezing cold so we kept our coats on for the 2 hours and were still freezing. The décor was so cheap sadly it was very far from glamorous. Our dresses cost more than the whole decor all together. The costumes of the actresses who supported to play rich girls were pathetic, I felt sorry for their looks. It was unnecessary stretched in 2 hours show. It was mostly us dancing, like a few times became boring the third time sorry! Do not pay full price for tickets, closer to the dates tickets go half price. It's a robery for what it is at the moment anyway. The very positive reviews fulled me to go see it, I wonder if they are fake reviews

I had such an amazing time with this performance, you can really feel how much effort and detail has been poured into it. I take my hat off to all the actors, immersive theatre can be tough depending on what your audience is like but they rolled with everything they were given. The set is astounding, your beautiful surroundings combined with the way the original story had been adapted truly made you feel you were a part of things, this was furthered even more so by each audience member having a completely different experience depending on which room they went to. My one tiny criticism was that to me, act 2 - especially towards the end, felt far less immersive and more like watching a traditional performance in a round, however, this is probably due to the original story being hard to keep set in one location.

Excellent nights entertainment. it really feels like your at Gatsby's mansion. All the actors made it very real involving everyone in the plot. The actress who played Jordan baker was exceptional a real live wire. the actors who played Tom Baker , Jay Gatsby & George were fabulous.
