Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

There’s magic in every moment in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the most awarded play in history and “one of the most defining pop culture events of the decade” (Forbes).

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016.

The critically acclaimed production is most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.

19 years after Harry, Ron, and Hermione saved the wizarding world, they’re back on a most extraordinary new adventure – this time, joined by a brave new generation that has only just arrived at the legendary Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Prepare for spectacular spells, a mind-blowing race through time, and an epic battle to stop mysterious forces, all while the future hangs in the balance.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

  • Great show, shocking seats

    6 May 2024

The show has a captivating plot line and many twists and turns to follow. We loved the fresh take on characters we know and love from both the books and the films. The staging was brilliant and the way they portrayed the magic really was spellbinding. I have no doubt that the action we missed down the left portion of the stage owed to our seats was equally as good.

  • Great Show

    2 March 2024

Having not read the book yet, I was a little lost at the beginning, but soon got into it. Loved the effects of the show, my only gripe is the length l, having to be sat on those cramped seat for so long was very painful towards the end even with the break between part 1 and 2

  • Very Good Effects

    27 November 2023

I'm not much of a Harry Potter fan (haven't seen all the movies, never read the books) so was going to this to purely experience the theatre. Special effects were very good. The show was slow to start and to be honest the black Hermione was jarring as I kept thinking of the white movie character. Second half pace picked up and there was some great set scenes. Moaning Myrtle stole the show for me. Harry Potter character as boring and insipid as ever but there was a great cast in all the other parts.
