At the heart of a once-glorious kingdom that has lost its king, Alegría: In a New Light witnesses the power struggle at play between the old order and the youth in strive for hope and renewal. As the court jester clumsily tries to take the throne, a growing desire for change emerges from the street to defy the status-quo and bring joy to the world.

Six grandchildren fidgeting in their seats in the Gods, suddenly transfixed by the action on the stage and held there in frozen in awe by the terrifying, death defying, tumbling, flying, balancing and whirling acrobats, interspersed with laughter at the antics of the clowns, amidst the soaring music. Wow! Wow! Wow! And the nine adults were equally ecstatically applauding, cheering and gasping. Such a rich experience carried away in our memories to talk about whenever we meet.
