Find EventsBare: A Pop Opera
A pulsating, electric contemporary rock/pop musical, Bare follows a group of students at a Catholic boarding school as they grapple with issues of sexuality, identity, and the future.
As the group attempts to put on a musical production of Romeo and Juliet, tensions flare, self-doubt simmers, and God’s path seems more difficult to find than ever.
With a unique sung-through score, heart-pounding lyrics, and a cast of bright & diverse characters, Bare is a provocative, fresh, and utterly honest look at the dangers of baring your soul, and the consequences of continuing to hide who you truly are.

Heartbreaking and beautiful - the best thing I’ve seen at the theatre all year, and already one of my favourite musicals of all time.

A brilliant emotional performance, expertly delivered, in a unique setting. Can’t understand why this isn’t on the west end, ??

Blown away by Bare!
22 July 2019
A bucket list tick was to see Bare. I was so excited to find it was showing in London. I wasn’t disappointed! I was absolutely blown away. The acting/singing/dancing/emotion was outstanding. From Nadia Singing a quiet night at home the tears started and I didn’t stop til the end. After reading reviews of “underwhelming” last month, I was going to make my own judgement. What show were they watching???? Each actor on that stage and the band should be immensely proud. Thank you Bare, you DID NOT disappoint ❤️❤️

Incredible ensemble performance
18 July 2019
Loved this show. Been wanting to see it for years, and I was super exciting about it and it really didn't disappoint. The ensemble acting was outstanding, each actor making their role incredibly individual whilst building lovely incidental relationships with other ensemble characters. I thought the female leading roles in particularly were super strong (especially the actors playing Nadia and Ivy - their voices were beautiful). Some of the staging was a bit problematic, and the transitions slightly clunky especially when using potentially overly realistic set pieces (i.e. real beds which were difficult to bring on and take off). But otherwise a beautiful show, and a lovely poignant, relevant and politically significant ending (which I won't spoil). Choreography was also outstanding.
